DOC generator

A declaration of conformity (DOC) is the written 'promise' that your packaging meets legal requirements. The DOC generator removes the typing for you: it reads your product master data, suggests phrasing and produces a print-ready PDF — ready for authorities, audits and suppliers.

When do you need a DOC?

  • For every new packaging you place on the market.
  • When material, supplier or recyclate share changes significantly.
  • On request from authorities or auditors.
  • When a business customer (e.g. a wholesaler) requires it as a prerequisite for listing.

One DOC per packaging family is often enough

When you offer the same packaging in multiple sizes (e.g. PET bottle 0.5 l and 1 l with identical material), you can create one shared DOC for the family — size variants are listed as a table in the document.

What does the generator do differently than a Word template?

  • Data integration: Instead of typing values manually, the generator pulls everything from your master data — supplier, material, recyclate share, substances.
  • AI phrasing: Reguly suggests structured phrasing based on the current PPWR regulation text.
  • Error check: Missing a required field? Reguly prevents you from sending an incomplete DOC.
  • Versioning: Every DOC is filed in the vault with date, author and version number — audit-safe and traceable.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open the DOC generator

In the dashboard under 'PPWR → DOC generator'. You see a list of every product with its current DOC status (valid / expiring / missing).

  2. 2

    Pick a product

Choose the product you want a DOC for. Reguly shows up front which data is present and which is missing.

  3. 3

    Fill missing data

When required fields are empty (e.g. recyclate share, supplier, migration test), Reguly takes you straight to the matching field in master data. After saving you return automatically.

  4. 4

    Review the AI suggestion

Reguly generates an explanatory text and shows it as a preview. You can accept or reject sentences individually. Adjust phrasing directly in the editor when needed.

  5. 5

    Preview

Click 'Preview' to see the finished DOC as a PDF — exactly as an auditor would receive it.

  6. 6

Generate and store in the vault

With 'Generate' Reguly creates the final PDF, signs it with your brand data and files it in the compliance vault. You find, download or recreate it any time there.

Versioning & audit trail

Every DOC carries a version number (e.g. v1.0, v1.1). When you regenerate an existing DOC (e.g. because the recyclate share changed), Reguly automatically creates a new version. The old version remains visible in the vault — important for audits that want to trace history.

FAQ

Is the generated DOC legally valid?
Yes, provided every required field is filled correctly and you have reviewed the DOC. Reguly helps with structure and phrasing — legal responsibility lies with you or the signing person.
Can I disable the AI phrasing?
Yes. The generator has an 'AI suggestions' switch. With it off, Reguly only creates a template with your data and you write everything yourself.
How often should I renew a DOC?
At the latest when the packaging changes. For stable packaging we still recommend an annual review — you check every value and file a new version.
Can I generate multiple languages?
Yes, Reguly supports German and English. You pick the language per generator run. Both versions are linked in the vault.
What happens when a supplier delivers data later?
You update master data and click 'Regenerate' in the DOC generator. The old version remains available; the new one carries a higher version number.
