Video QR codes
When you want to put a video on packaging or a poster, you need a QR code that leads straight to the video. Reguly generates such QR codes per video — print-ready in multiple formats and with optional brand styling.
Why video QR codes?
Unlike the DPP QR code (which leads to the product passport), the video QR code targets a single piece of content — e.g. an instruction, a brand story, a recycling tutorial. Handy when you only want to put one video on an ad space, flyer or pack without sending the consumer through a larger DPP.
Step by step
- 1
Open the QR-code area
In the dashboard under 'Marketing → Video QR codes'. You see all created QR codes with the linked video.
- 2
Create new QR code
Click 'Generate QR code'. Pick a video from the content area (or upload a new video first).
- 3
Adjust branding
Optional: place the logo in the centre, change colour (your brand's primary), add a frame. Reguly ensures readability is preserved.
- 4
Pick format and size
PNG (300/600/1200 dpi), SVG or PDF. For packaging print we recommend SVG (scales lossless). Minimum print size: 2 cm edge length.
- 5
Test scan
Reguly offers a scan preview. Hold your phone to the screen — you see directly what consumers will see.
- 6
Download
With 'Download' you save the QR code locally. Reguly remembers that you created it — you can re-download or generate new versions any time.
Best practices
- Minimum size: 2 × 2 cm in print. Smaller sometimes works but readability suffers.
- Contrast: Dark code on light background. Avoid white on black — many scanners struggle.
- Quiet zone: Leave at least 4 mm margin around the QR code.
- Caption: A short text like 'More info' or 'Watch video' significantly increases scan rate.
- Print test: Always print and scan once — a print error does not show in the PDF but very clearly in print.
Mind the centre logo
Statistics (with analytics plan)
Per QR code you see how often it was scanned, from which countries and devices. The data helps you assess marketing campaigns — e.g. whether a poster in Berlin or Hamburg performs better.
