DPP
Digital product passport — overview
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) becomes mandatory from 2027 for many product categories — textiles, electronics, furniture, toys. With Reguly you create structured passports today and use them as a marketing touchpoint: consumers scan a QR code on the packaging and see all relevant product info.
What you find here
The DPP section bundles everything you need to create and distribute digital product passports:
Why start with the DPP now?
- Mandatory from 2027: The ESPR Delegated Acts make the DPP binding for many industries. Starting early gives you routine before it gets serious.
- Marketing lever: Consumers expect transparency today. A DPP shows: you hide nothing, you explain instead.
- Data synergy: A lot you maintain for PPWR (material, recyclate share, supplier) is also relevant for the DPP. Reguly recycles this data 1:1 into the passport.
DPP ≠ PPWR
Both topics are related but not the same. PPWR is about packaging and quantities; DPP is about the product itself and its life cycle. Reguly bundles both because your data usually overlaps.
Typical DPP workflow
- Maintain master data: Brand and product with material, components, repairability, recycling note.
- Start the DPP generator: Run through the wizard, validate data, save the passport.
- Print QR code: Reguly creates a GS1 Digital Link with a unique GTIN — you print it on the packaging.
- Update the passport: When the product changes, regenerate the passport — the QR code stays the same, the content changes.
