DPP
DPP generator
The DPP generator is a guided wizard: you pick a product, walk through data categories step by step (material, processing, repairability, recycling, suppliers), and at the end you have a complete, print-ready Digital Product Passport — ready for publication via QR code.
When do I start the generator?
- For every new productthat should ship with DPP obligation (or DPP preparation).
- When product data changes — e.g. a new supplier, new material composition. You create a new DPP that replaces the old one.
- When you want to review an old DPP — the generator shows fields that have become obsolete since the last creation.
Step by step through the wizard
- 1
Open the generator
In the dashboard under 'DPP → DPP generator'. You see a list of every product with status: no DPP, draft, published.
- 2
Pick a product
Pick the product you want to document. Reguly automatically loads all existing master data.
- 3
Step 1: identification
Here you check product name, GTIN, manufacturer and model. Reguly pre-fills fields from master data.
- 4
Step 2: material & components
You list the main materials of the product (e.g. cotton 80%, polyester 20%). When you have captured components separately (e.g. fabric, buttons, zipper), they show up here — every component carries a material profile.
- 5
Step 3: processing & origin
Where was the product produced? Which suppliers were involved? Reguly uses the suppliers from the data hub, you only pick them.
- 6
Step 4: repairability & lifetime
Expected lifetime, repairability (scale 0–10), spare-parts availability, service contact. Important fields, because per ESPR they will be displayed prominently in future.
- 7
Step 5: recycling & disposal
Notes on correct disposal, separability of materials, recycling streams the product participates in.
- 8
Step 6: compliance & certificates
Reguly pulls certificates from the compliance vault (e.g. OEKO-TEX, GOTS, EuCertPlast). You pick which ones should be shown in the DPP.
- 9
Step 7: preview & publish
You see the DPP exactly as a consumer would on scan. Via 'Publish' the passport goes live — and the QR code is generated.
Required fields per product category
Which fields are mandatory depends on the product category. Reguly marks required fields with a red star. An overview for the most important categories:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Textiles* | Fibre composition, country of origin, care instructions, recycling note. |
| Electronics* | Model, energy class, spare-parts availability, repair instructions. |
| Furniture* | Wood origin (FSC), surface treatment, disassembly capability. |
| Toys* | Age rating, materials, safety tests, hazardous substances. |
| Packaging (DPP duty from 2030) | Material, recyclate share, separability, supplier. |

Templates
When you have many products of the same category, create a template: Reguly stores your selection of mandatory and optional fields. For the next product you reuse the template and only fill in product-specific values.
