PPWR
Packaging and Packaging Waste RegulationAn EU regulation that requires manufacturers and first distributors of packaging to document their packaging, label it and report quantities. It replaces the old packaging directive and takes effect in stages. Almost everyone selling products in the EU is affected.
DOC
Declaration of ConformityAn official document with which you, as the first distributor, confirm in writing that your packaging meets the requirements of the PPWR (or another standard). You create one DOC per packaging or packaging family and produce it on request to authorities.
DPP
Digital Product PassportA central collection of all relevant product data — material, origin, repairability, recycling instructions. The passport is accessed via a QR code that you print on the package. Consumers and authorities scan the code and see every detail. Mandatory for many product groups from 2027 (ESPR).
ESPR
Ecodesign for Sustainable Products RegulationThe umbrella EU regulation that introduces the DPP for many product categories. It defines which product groups need a DPP and when, plus the minimum data each must contain.
LUCID
Packaging register of the ZSVRThe official German packaging register, run by the ZSVR. Anyone placing packaging on the German market must register and report annual quantities. Reguly helps with guided onboarding and quarterly reports.
First distributor
InverkehrbringerThe company that places a packaging onto the German market for the first time. That can be the manufacturer or an importer. The first distributor carries the compliance duties — even if the packaging was produced by a supplier.
GTIN
Global Trade Item NumberThe international, unique product number (often visible as a barcode on the package). Needed to uniquely identify a product — for example when you publish a DPP via GS1 Digital Link.
GS1 Digital Link
Standardised QR-code URL structureAn international standard that packs GTINs and other product data into QR codes. Reguly uses GS1 Digital Link for DPP QR codes — so they are compatible with scanners and external systems.
Recyclate share
Share of recycled materialThe percentage of recycled material in a packaging. PPWR sets minimum shares for certain materials (e.g. PET). Reguly requests these values from your suppliers in a targeted way.
Compliance vault
Reguly document vaultA central storage location in your dashboard for DOCs, certificates and other compliance documents. You upload documents once; Reguly automatically reminds you of expiry dates.
Data request
Supplier data formAn automated form that Reguly sends to your suppliers — e.g. for recyclate shares, substances or certificates. Suppliers fill it in via a link without registering. The data lands directly in your products.
Feature gate
Plan-dependent featureSome features are only unlocked in certain plans (e.g. audit log, API keys, multi-user). In the dashboard you spot locked features by the lock icon. In these docs every plan-dependent page is marked with the 'Plan upgrade required' notice.
